Welcome to our World
Unlike most other team sports outrigger paddling is a true “team sport”. There are no shining stars, there are no heros. Everyone must cooperate and work together to get that canoe over the finish line. No one person can pull the canoe to victory; it takes the team working together to bring out the best in each person.

Torquay is located on the Surf Coast, an hour and a half by car, southwest of Melbourne. It is the site of the world-renowned Bells Beach, one of the great surfing hot spots where the worlds best surfers slug it out, wave for wave, to win the annual Bells Beach Classic each Easter.
Torquay is also the start of that other great tourist attraction – the Great Ocean Road as it winds its way along the coast, through the Otway ranges and on to Port Cambell and the 12 Apostles.
It is also home to some of the world’s corporate giants in Quiksilver and Rip Curl and is one of the fastest growing regions in the state.
The Torquay Outrigger Canoe Club is the only open-ocean canoe club in Victoria and has been set up to take advantage of the natural attributes the southern ocean has to offer. We have the benefit of paddling in the sheltered waters east of Point Danger or the option of paddling on the open ocean to Bells Beach, Anglesea or Breamlea, enjoying the surge that ocean swells offer when conditions permit.
